City Parks

Lexington boasts 8 public parks, plus a skateboard park, Family Aquatic Center, and the Lexington Fieldhouse, a new 27,000 square-foot indoor sports activities building. The City has more than 100 acres of recreational green space, including a growing network of hike-bike trails.

The shelter houses at Plum Creek Park and Kirkpatrick Memorial Park may be reserved for your event on a first-come first-serve basis. Contact Ann Luther(aluther@cityoflex.com) at 308-325-5277 to request a reservation.

Kirkpatrick Memorial Park

  • Swimming pool, tennis, playground, picnic shelter (new 2007), gazebo, ball field, wide open spaces

Pioneer Park

  • 16th & Madison
  • 2.1 acres
  • Playground (new features in 2007), picnic shelter

Optimist Recreation Complex

  • 13th & Airport Road
  • 35.9 acres
  • Soccer, softball, legion ball, indoor sports activity building, indoor hitting facility, concessions

Centennial Park

  • South of downtown
  • 1.5 acres
  • Walking trail, benches, memorial wall

Water Tower Park

  • Under the downtown water tower
  • .25 acres
  • Picnic shelter and tables, with a scenic garden.

Skate Park

  • Arbor Park - Highway 283 and Maple
  • 100' x 90'
  • 20-foot half-pipe, bank ramp, 3 quarter-pipes, jump ramp, pyramid, skate table, bench, tall box, rails & misc.
