Police Officer

The City of Lexington, Nebraska is accepting applications to fill openings for the position of Police Officer. The Lexington Police Department maintains a force of 21 full time sworn officers. Black and white patrol SUVs, patrol rifles, tasers and on board computer systems are utilized by the department.

Uncertified applicants will be required to obtain Nebraska Law Enforcement Certification. Other qualifications include being at least 21 years of age, a United States citizen, the ability to work weekends, holidays and nights as needed; possess a valid Nebraska driver's license and have a good driving record; possess a high school diploma or GED certificate. Must be of good moral character; no felony convictions, serious misdemeanors, domestic charges or dishonorable discharge from military service. A thorough background investigation will be conducted. Temporary Seasonal Workers, Part-time

The City of Lexington Recreation and Parks Departments are now taking Applications for Part-time summer help. Positions fill fast and training begins in the spring, so get your application in right away! Applications will be accepted through February 2019. Positions available include:

● Concession Workers (age 14+)
● Lifeguards (age 15+)
● City Park and Cemetery Maintenance (age 16+).
● Street Maintenance (age 16+).
