Total Eclipse of the Sun in Nebraska

Aug 21, 12:00 PM

On August 21, 2017, a rare total eclipse of the Sun is visible from within a narrow corridor that traverses the United States of America, including Central Nebraska. In this type of eclipse the Moon completely blocks the Sun, daytime becomes a deep twilight, and the Suns corona shimmers in the darkened sky. The full event in Lexington lasts from 11:31 AM to 2:24 PM, but the peak time will be between 2:55 and 1:00 p.m. For more scientific detail, click here to go to the NASA Eclipse Website.
