Police Officer, Lexington Police Department
40 hours / week non-exempt
The City of Lexington, Nebraska, is accepting applications to fill an opening for the position of Police Officer. The Lexington Police Department maintains a force of 20 full-time sworn officers. Black and white patrol cars/SUVs, patrol rifle, Taser, and iPads are utilized by the department.
Qualifications for the position include the following:
● be at least 21 years of age;
● be a U.S. citizen;
● have ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays
● have a high school diploma or GED;
● have a valid Nebraska driver’s license with good driving record;
● have no felony, serious misdemeanor convictions, domestic charges or dishonorable discharges from the military service
● obtain certification through the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center
A thorough background investigation, TABE and Psychological testing will be conducted.
Duties of the position are consistent with Municipal Law Enforcement. Salary based on experience.
